Movie Week

I saw two movies this week:

Black Swan – Yuck! Grotesque; would not recommend. Of course individual tastes do vary!

The Tourist – Nice movie, good chemistry between Johnny and Angelina. I recommend it.

Duplos and Cars – I am in Heaven!

A nice, leisurely ride on a cool winter day

Mike and I rode around Moorpark, including the Moorpark College area, Rustic Canyon Golf Course and the Highlands where the Mirza’s new house is being built. It was cool out, but very manageable with the right clothing. Not a long ride, but I am getting closer to 1100 for the year. That’s a good thing.

The Decorations are finally in place!

We have been a little slow this year, but we got our decorations up. It’s always fun to go through the boxes and pull out items that remind us of people and past Christmases. I do love it.

What a fabulous day for a ride

Wow. You can’t beat the weather we are having right now in Southern California. To be able to cycle with no arm warmers, no jacket or no vest is absolutely the best. Today we didn’t even have any wind to battle. While the other folks around the country are dealing with very cold temperatures, rain and snow, we are able to pursue our outdoor activities. We even had our bedroom window wide open all night long! We are very lucky.

The tree is up!

We got the tree up today and it is perfect. Now comes the decorating . . . It’s fun to have a live tree for a change. The smell is so nice.

Indian Summer

Wow, today’s bike ride was amazing! The weather was so nice, sunny and windless, that I did not even need arm warmers or a jacket. Even after not riding for a week, I felt so strong. If I can get myself back on track for losing weight, then I know I will even feel stronger in 2011!

Bill Paying is Soooo Fun

Although getting a paycheck at the beginning of each month is great, I always have to send so much of our hard-earned (can I say that as a retiree?) money to various recipients. I much rather spend it on my family!

What I do with my days

When I am not working, I love to go shopping. I enjoy going to the Mall, sitting and having a cup of coffee, then spending money! I am dangerous as a retired person!

The Grandparents love to play with CJ

Not your typical Grandma! CJ loves to play with me and my iPad.	Grandpa and CJ enjoy a good book together.

It was so fun to visit with Matt today via Skype. I'm hooked and will want to do this more!

CJ was all dressed up for Hallowe'en when he and Heather came to visit us in Palm Desert. We chased a roadrunner all over the campground. Sooooo cute!

Nancy's Childhood Home in San Diego

One of the many places I lived as a child was La Mesa, near San Diego. Mike and I drove down the street (after I got the address from my brother who remembers everything) and checked it out. We also drove by the elementary school I attended. I have a lot of fond memories of this time of my life.

I made this placemat (the first of 4) at a class in Simi today. Applique is so eye-intensive!

Apparently CJ is pleased with the pillow I made for him.
